Who We Are
Our mission
To raise standards of ethics and professional excellence in the investment industry in Qatar while creating value for our members and stakeholders.
We advance Qatar’s investment community by promoting the highest standards of professional excellence and integrity, contributing to the development of local capital markets, supporting the continued education of investment professionals in Qatar, and promoting the CFA Program. Our members work as portfolio managers, investment advisors, bankers, analysts, and educators, and nearly all of them hold the CFA charter.

What we do
Our history
CFA Society Doha was founded in 2014. In its early years the society built a local community, registered with the Qatar Financial Centre as CFA Society Doha LLC (G), and joined the CFA Institute Global Passport Program in 2017, when membership reached 121, nearly double the year before. It ran ethics workshops for the Qatar Investment Authority, the QFC Regulatory Authority, Qatar University, Georgetown University in Qatar, and Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, and granted scholarships to CFA Program candidates. In 2020 it launched a monthly Investment Sentiment Survey of members and the quarterly Advocacy Insights newsletter. The society received the Qatar Financial Centre’s Best Not-for-Profit of the Year award for 2019 and was named Most Outstanding Society (under 150 members) in the CFA Institute 2020 Society Awards.
The society is led by a volunteer board. Meet the current board, or read our year in review and governance documents.
